Music in Kenya has been a means of earning for many musicians. Authors of musical works have the exclusive rights to control reproduction, translation, adaption, and distribution to the pubic of the work by way of sale. These exclusive rights are to the exclusion of other public parties unless their dealings fall within the realm of fair dealings. The growth of digital technology has allowed individuals to disseminate their work via digital communication networks such as the internet, phones, and personal computers.en_US
