Abstract
Euthanasia is a highly controversial debate that raises polarized views. Both sides of the argument have relevant views, hence, unwise to take one side and ignore the rest. Different jurisdictions have handled euthanasia differently, with countries such as Canada and Switzerland legalising it. Kenya, on the other hand, has chosen to criminalise the practise
deeming it an illegal deprivation of life.
Description
Euthanasia is defined as the act or practice of painlessly putting to death persons suffering from incurable and distressing disease as an act of mercy. 1 A second definition is the painless inducement of a quick death. 2 The word is derived from the Greek words; eu to mean well and than to mean death.
