| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the impact of regional integration on human development within the East African Community (EAC), focusing on Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania, and Uganda. Using a quantitative approach and panel data analysis from 2008 to 2023, Findings show that labor mobility and trade enhance development outcomes but may be impeded by restrictive policies and unequal member-state capacities. The study concludes that bridging inequalities, enhancing infrastructure, and fostering inclusivity are vital for maximizing integration's benefits. It recommends further research on barriers to labor mobility, trade imbalances, debt management strategies, labor market dynamics, and intra-regional inequalities. Longitudinal analyses focusing on education, healthcare, and income are also suggested to inform policies promoting sustainable development and an improved quality of life across EAC member states. | |
