dc.descriptionThe semantic web is an extension of the current web in which data and web resources is given more meaning by incorporating metadata. The incorporation of metadata leads to an improved utilization of web resources by software applications, which will be acting on behalf of human users. In this paper we introduce the semantic web technologies, specifically RDF, RDF Schema and OWL that have been recommended by the W3C. Particularly, we encourage the Kenyan web developer to use these semantic languages in addition to HTML in their projects.
