Abstract
Modern organizations face the challenge of accessing information that is relevant for
development and sustainability. A key impediment for most organizations is sifting through large
amounts of data to extract required information. Studies show that modern organizations geared
towards development find it difficult to access and learn from information provided through
previous projects conducted for/by the institutions. This study investigates the efficacy of
incorporating data mining techniques into information and knowledge management to improve
the quality of information used by organizations. Effective Information and Knowledge
management practices are important for business growth and diversity, since they provide
platforms through which managers can make competent decisions based on stored information.
The study introduces a suggested information management framework that incorporates
automated storage, access, and analysis of data to improve information and knowledge within
organizations. This will translate to overall development in organizations processes.
